Our “Coaches Clipboard” is a collection of pertinent phrases, knowledge and wisdom. Shared every now and then on a Sunday. It’s our "thinking menu" with some bits and pieces we came across…

You get better at what you practice. What are you practicing?
Ric Charlesworth: "First rules of skill development is specificity. You better be doing what's required. You better develop the movements that are part of the game. If you're going to be successful in developing skills that you need, you must push past the challenge point. It’s necessary to keep failing and learning to grow."
Team sports teach you to see what everyone brings to the group
Andreu Enrich: "Drills that don’t stimulate creativity are a waste of time. Training tasks must be deliberate, specific, and practiced in small groups to truly improve execution and motivation."
Admire someone else's talent without questioning your own.
Ben Bishop: "A lot of what you do in coaching isn’t about changing people, they change themselves. Your role is to create an environment where deliberate practice and increased awareness allow players to have a bigger impact on the game."
Use what’s helpful. Let go of the rest.
Never be afraid to be the dumbest person in the room. You want to be in rooms where you can learn and grow.
Others determine your reputation, but only you determine your integrity.
When did I last push the boundaries of my comfort zone?
Hope you enjoyed these… happy coaching!
